Dear Jarom,
You turned 67 months last week. We were in New Mexico visiting Grandma and Grandpa Watts for General Conference and I"m just now getting around to doing this. You are growing up so fast! You are not a little kid anymore and sometimes it makes me sad but I look forward to seeing the man you become.
You are such a good helper. You feed Megan if I need you to, you help me with the garbage, you hold Alex's hand when we're outside and my hands are full, and recently you've started helping me fold the laundry. You are so good at cleaning your room at the end of the day, even if Alex is the one who has made the mess.
You are getting really into drawing and coloring these days. You've brought home drawings you have done for school and they are seriously really good! The whole way down to New Mexico you just sat in the back of the van and colored and drew pictures and it was such a pleasant trip!
We went to the Sportsman's Expo and you got to hold a baby bear! He was so cute and furry and he moved around like a human baby. You had fun with that and holding a fish and trying to fish at the Expo.
You do have your moments though. Some days you are super whiney about everything I ask you to do. Or you want something and I tell you no and you just beg and beg and it gets really annoying. And you can be bossy to Alex, you like to think you're his mom. But those instances are more rare than the good behavior and I couldn't be happier.
Your reading is coming along really well. You're starting to read signs and little books. I can't believe you only have a couple months of kindergarten left and then you'll be in first grade! You can count to 100 by individual numbers and also by 5's. You are so smart - we just have to make sure we keep practicing over the summer.
You've told me you're glad you are the big brother and I don't think there's a better big brother out there. You have such a tender heart and are such an important part of this family.
Love, Mommy
