Dear Jarom,
Today you turn 18 months. Now you can start going to nursery, although I must admit you've been going for the last several weeks already. And you seem to love it. Everyone kept telling us we should take you in a few weeks before so you could get used to it but I knew you wouldn't have any problems getting used to playing with other kids and lots of toys to play with and especially, treats!
You have become a voracious climber this month. You climb up on all the furniture and can now reach things that we were hoping you wouldn't. You even like to get mommy's step-stool out and open it just enough that you can reach all the magnets on the fridge. You love climbing the bookshelf too. Right now you only climb up on the lip and then hang onto the second shelf so you can lean your head back and look at us upside down. We're going to have to do something to secure the bookshelf so you don't pull it down on yourself.
Words are starting to come to you. I've heard you say "ball" and "bear" and you say "ju" for juice. You communicate pretty well and whenever we guess right what you're trying to say you give us the biggest grin.
This month I became a stay-at-home mom and I must say it has been so fun to get to be home with you all the time. We play with all your toys and work on developing new skills and probably watch way too much tv! But it's mostly PBS so that's ok righ? It's educational. I see you watching Elmo and mimicking the sign language and animal noises they make. We're going to have a great time home together every day.
Love, Mommy
