Letter to Jarom: Month 45

Dear Jarom,

Yesterday was Memorial Day and you turned 45 months! But we visited Grandma and Grandpa Watts in New Mexico for Memorial Day so I couldn't write your post then. You were so excited to go you even packed your own suitcase. I had all your clothes sitting out and had brought a suitcase down but then got distracted with something else. When I came back, it was all packed! And you did a pretty good job too!

We had a fun trip. We visited a Uranium mine and saw Shrek Forever After and you thought that was so funny! We ate tons of food and saw some of your second cousins. You got to play with them and also some puppies and kitties. You weren't a big fan of the kitties because they had claws and actually started screaming bloody murder when one of your cousins was chasing you around with a kitty! But you liked holding the puppies.

We went to Window Rock to the flea markets and you got a blue snowcone and had a blue face for a couple days! We also visited the Memorial in Window Rock and that was pretty cool. They had memorials for a lot of the code-talkers and other Native Americans who have served this country.

Probably one of the best parts of the trip, though, was when you pooped in the potty for the first time! You were so excited and just kept screaming, "I pooped in the potty! I knew I could do it!" You are doing really well at being potty trained. You stayed dry the whole 9 hours down and back and went potty when we stopped for breaks. And since you pooped in the potty the first time you've been doing it every time now. Whatever fear you had of the potty seems to be gone. The last time you pooped in the potty you said, "It's a miracle!" You are so funny!

You've been saying the funniest things. When you ask a question and I give you an answer you say, "Tell me the truth." Like you think I'm lying to you or something! And other times you'll tell me some plan you have and then say, "Is that ok with you?" I don't know where you're getting this stuff.

Your favorite thing to do these days is build a "treehouse" in our living room. You get pillows and blankets and chairs and build a little fort. Every day you want to build something in our living room. You also love playing with Alex now that Alex is getting a little bigger. The other day he had some drums and you had one of his toys and you were pretending it was a guitar and you guys had a band. It was so cute. You love singing the Primary songs too. Your favorite is "Follow the Prophet."

You are not shy and love talking to anybody you meet. We were at JC Penney's getting Alex's picture taken and you sat and talked to another family that was getting their picture taken too. You told them about your Transformer bed and your family and Star Wars and Alex and that you love peanut butter and honey sandwiches. It was funny and a little embarrassing but what can I do? You are turning into such a big boy and we are so proud of you.

Love, Mommy

You should move to Sacramento so our kids can play. :-) I know I could move to Utah too.

How fun. It's great how they make friends with everyone in talking distance. :D
