Letter to Alex: Month 7

Dear Alex,

Today you turn 7 months! This month you went on your first road trip. We went to New Mexico to visit Grandma and Grandpa Watts. They were so excited to see you! You travelled pretty well. You got fussy a little bit but mostly you slept or just watched Jarom. You had such a good time playing with Grandma and Grandpa. You giggled and rolled around and even tried to walk with help.

You are getting very close to crawling. Whenever I leave you on the floor you end up in a totally different spot from where I put you. When you're on your belly you use the tips of your toes to try to push yourself forward. Now you just have to get the arms working too! And you're sitting up for longer periods of time before you fall over. You are getting to be such a big boy!

You love to play with your toys. You get fussy if you don't have something to play with most of the time. You love teething toys - I think you might be working on some more teeth. And you chew on anything you can get your hands on - even if it's stuffed animals or your feet! You've got a little drum you love to play too. But your favorite thing to play with is Jarom. He can make you laugh and play more than anything or anyone else!

You eat really well - we've started on the stage 2 foods and you're liking all of those. You get so excited when we put you in your high chair because you know it's time to eat! You're not sleeping so good these days though. You wake up several times in the middle of the night but usually I just wrap you back up and you go back to sleep. You tend to sleep wrapped up but with one arm out and wrapped around your froghead blanket toy and sometimes you sleep on your side. You rarely fall asleep without that frog blanket though. You like to rub the furry blanket part across your face and that usually puts you to sleep.

We had a a smiley face cake for you to celebrate your first laugh - a couple months ago. Better late than never! And you went on your first swing at the park! You really liked the swing but weren't so sure about the slide. It'll be no time at all before you're running around the playground with Jarom!

Love, Mommy
