Weeks 2 and 3

We had hoped to be able to update this every few days - at least once a week - but it hasn't really worked out that way. Taking care of Jarom has become a little bit harder this week. He's still as adorable as ever but he's wanting to sleep less and be held more. Which is fine because he's so cute, but not fine if I want to get anything done around the house. He's become more fussy since the first week of life but not ridiculously fussy. Usually it's because he's come unwrapped from his blanket and doesn't like that his arms and legs are free to move around. It seems to freak him out a little bit. We're in the process of reading The Happiest Baby on the Block so hopefully when we're done we'll be experts at soothing all of his cries and Jarom will truly be the happiest baby around!
We went to the doctor this week for his 2 week checkup. He's up to 9 lbs 7 oz which is a good weight, but he's still a shorty at 20.75 inches. He has a slight heart murmur which the doctor says is probably no big deal but they're scheduling an appointment for him to see the pediatric cardiologist at Primary just in case. I really like his doctor and her nurse, Roberta. And they just love Jarom. They answer all my questions and take special care since I'm a brand new mom.

We gave Jarom his first real bath last night. We had just been doing sponge baths while we waited for his umbilical cord to fall off. We put him in the baby bath tub but he really didn't like it very much. I think it may have been too cold for him or something. I'm sure he'll get used to it though. He's not too fond of his carseat either. He always falls asleep in the car but as soon as we get to our destination he wants to be let out of that thing! But he's not unhappy with everything. He likes to stare at the blanket on the back of our couch because it's got a lot of bold, contrasting colors. And I think he's going to be ticklish under his chin. I get an almost-smile out of him whenever I tickle him there!

Ok, is it just me or does he look like a mini jedi master in that baby towel?! This boy keeps getting cuter and cuter the longer he lives!
