Letter to Alex: Month 33

Dear Alex,

Today you are 33 months! I've been really bad about posting lately so this is pretty much for the whole summer! You had a blast at Disneyland and tell me every day you want to go back. I wasn't sure if you would be scared to go on some of the rides but you loved them all - especially Buzz Lightyear. And you loved all the characters you got to meet. You loved Mickey Mouse the most. We had to buy you a Mickey Mouse doll to remember him. You also loved the beach and the Lego store in downtown Disney.

Some of the other places we've been this summer were Jungle Jim's, Chuck E. Cheese, and the farm at Thanksgiving Point. You have fun at all our outings and love to go on rides and play games.

You took swimming lessons for the first time. I wasn't going to put you in because you're still so little but Jarom was doing it so you had to take swimming lessons too. I just put you in the Jellyfish Pre-Level class but you loved it. You weren't afraid of the water - at least not at first. I think you must have fallen off the side of the pool or something because this one area started freaking you out. As long as you stayed away from that area you had a great time in your class! Maybe we'll put you in for real next year.

You are such a funny kid and are always saying funny things. For some reason you have a thing about chickens and are always talking about chicken. You love music and recognize songs on the radio. You always ask me the names of the songs and then the next time you hear them - even if it's weeks later - you remember the name of the song! You love to sing Twinkle Twinkle and The More We Get Together.

You're starting to learn to ride a bike. You're not super good yet but you can peddle pretty well. You love the movies Bolt and Despicable Me. If it's your turn to pick a show it'll usually be one of those two. You love to swim in Grandma Funk's backyard and swing on the swings. You love going to Hunter Park with some of our friends in our neighborhood. You also loved story and craft time at the Library. I think your favorite crafts were making a bat and a firefly.

You love all the super heroes and love playing dress up with Jarom. You got to meet Spiderman at a ward carnival and you were SO excited! You have fun playing with Megan and Jarom and your cousin Charlie.

You can be the sweetest boy or the most aggravating monster. I guess we're in the terrible 2-3s for real! Fortunately your cute times make up for your not so cute times. We love having you in our family!

Love, Mommy
