Happy Birthday! Today you are 5 years old. You have grown up so much in the last year. We went to the doctor and you are 43 3/4 inches tall and 43 lbs. Your eyesight is good, you are ridiculously strong, and very smart. You started kindergarten the day before your birthday and you are so excited to get to go to school every day. Your teacher is Mrs. McAfee and I think you'll like her a lot.
In June you started swimming lessons. You loved being in the water and were pretty fearless. You passed both the seahorse and starfish levels and made some new friends. You also finished up t-ball. There was such a difference from your first week of playing to your last week. You keep telling us you want to play next year. We went to a pow wow up at Soldier Hollow. You got a cool wooden snake and had fun dancing the inter-tribal dance. At the end of the month we went to Cedar City with daddy's side of the family. You had fun with your cousins - especially swimming in the motel pool and finding lizards near the petroglyphs we visited.
Over the 4th of July weekend we stayed in Park City. You loved staying in a hotel. You and daddy got to ride the Alpine Slide and you thought that was awesome! We watched the Flying Aces show and you got to sit in a bobsled at the Olympic Park. We had fun walking around downtown Park City, we saw Cars 2 and then watched the fireworks at the Canyons Resort. Then we came home and put your bunk beds together and watched fireworks at Murray Park.
We moved Alex into your room so we could get the nursery ready for the baby and you guys love your bunk beds! You also loved making a rocket out of the box the bunk beds came in. We weren't sure how you guys would do being in the same room but for the most part we haven't had any trouble.
We did have a little trouble when you got ahold of a pair of scissors though! You cut a huge chunk of hair from the front of your head! And you cut some of Alex's hair too. It was deep enough that we just had to shave both your heads. It's been weird seeing you both with such short hair. You weren't that bald when you were born!
In August we did a lot of getting ready for the baby! You were so excited for the baby to get here and have been such a big helper with Megan and with Alex. You love holding your sister and giving her kisses. You are really good at helping Alex with things when I'm busy with the baby. You got to stay with Grandma and Grandpa Funk while I was in the hospital and had a great time with them. Uncle Jay and Aunt Brooke had their baby, Charlie, this month too and you got to hold him when we visited them in the hospital.
We also had lots of birthday celebrations for you in August. We went to Chuck E Cheese and had pizza and played games. Then we had your birthday party at the park. You had a Ben 10 cake (you are really into Ben 10, Power Rangers, Star Wars, and all super heroes) and had fun playing on the playground. You got tons of presents over your birthday week: Spiderman mask, Power Rangers Samurai sword, Star Wars Transformer toys, Star Wars Legos, Iron Man Repulsor and a ton of other things. You are definitely spoiled!
You are growing up so fast! You are such a fun, sweet, wonderful little boy and a great big brother and we are so blessed to have you in our family.
Love, Mommy

It's crazy how fast they grow up, I know I keep saying that but it always amazes me. Looks like he had a fun summer and bday :D
Doesn't having a new baby make the other ones seem huge?
I'm so happy you had a girl they are more fun to dress up, it's like having a doll all over agian. I just hope she dosen't have the attitude my daughter does.
How bad am I, I have Jer Bears gift in a bag next to my bed. I promise I will get it wrapped and to him before his next birthday...LOL!
