Today you turn 28 months. It's hard to believe you're already on your way to three years old. You get funnier and funnier all the time. You've started saying a lot of new words this month - more than I can even keep track of. Just tonight I said you were full of crap and you said, "no crap." It was too funny. You've got the horse sound, frog sound, sheep and dog sounds, siren, airplane (and you can say airplane) all down. Most of your words are still hard to understand but we're starting to understand you a whole lot better and it's so fun to get you to say new words.
You love playing dress up. We pulled out our winter hats and scarves and things and you had to try them all on. You put my beret over one eye and said you were a pirate. You are very smart. You will definitely be a car guy. Already if you see a car that looks like mine or daddy's in a parking lot you show it to us. It doesn't even have to be the same color, just the same model. Crazy.
You enjoyed Thanksgiving. You didn't really want to eat most of the food for some reason. Mostly you wanted pickles and you loved putting black olives on your fingers. You sure loved the cranberries! You had fun spending time with my side of the family. We definitely missed daddy's side of the family for this holiday but they're all looking forward to seeing you at Christmas.
We put up the Christmas tree on Thanksgiving and you had to help put all the ornaments on the tree. Fortunately the tree is in a room all by itself so you won't be tempted to play with all the Christmas ornaments. You tried really hard to get the angel on the top of the tree but you just weren't tall enough.
The day after Thanksgiving we took you downtown to see all the Christmas lights on Temple Square. You loved running around and looking at all the lights. There was a concert going on at the Gateway and you sat on grandpa's shoulders and danced and clapped and had so much fun. But I think your favorite part was when we rode the Trax train. You'd only been on it once before, when you were really little, so this was like the first time for you. You sure had a good time! After awhile you and daddy had had enough of the lights (if we'd stayed any longer the two of you would have started kicking things over!).
You played in the first snow storm of the year at the beginning of the month and it was so fun to watch you trying to figure out the snow. You loved tromping through it and trying to make snowballs. I can't wait to see what fun we'll have this winter when we get some more snow! This will be such a fun holiday season having you around.
Love, Mommy
