Letter to Jarom: 15 Months

Dear Jarom,
It's been a few days since you turned 15 months but the holiday season has started so there hasn't been a lot of time for blogging lately. It's weird to look back and see how little you were at this time last year. On the day you turned 15 months we went to a wedding reception for a wardmember in our last ward. It's been almost a year since we saw any of those wardmembers and none of them could believe how big you've gotten and how much personality you now have. It was good to see them all again. And you had a good time. You thought the bride was beautiful and just wanted to hold her hand. You went around charming everyone. And of course, you had to have an eclair! You didn't want anything else on our plate, just the eclair.

For Thanksgiving we went to see Grandma and Grandpa Watts. You've only made the trip once before and we weren't sure how you would be but you were really good. You slept a lot and chattered to yourself. For Thanksgiving dinner you were eating just fine until I gave you some cranberries. Then you didn't want to eat anything else but cranberries! You had a great time with Grandma and Grandpa while we were down there. You found all kinds of toys to play with and pretty much amused yourself and all of us the whole time. Grandma had this Barbie doll that she was waving and hissing at you and you thought it was so funny! Then Grandpa tried it but he wasn't doing it the same way Grandma was so you took the doll away from Grandpa and gave it back to Grandma! It was too funny!
We got a babysitter for you while we were there so we could go see a movie for Daddy's birthday and you slept the entire time. I think that was the easiest babysitting she's ever done. On the way home to Utah you started throwing up. We had to change your clothes several times and clean up your carseat. It was so gross! But you weren't the least bit unhappy. You sat buckled into the front seat while we cleaned things up and you were just fine. You were sick on and off for about a week but only a few times did you get crabby.

You're getting better at understanding what we say and actually doing it. We tell you it's bedtime and you go give daddy a kiss and get ready for bed and things like that. We're working on teaching you some sign language. The other day you had some cereal and I asked you if you wanted some more and you actually made the sign for "more." It's pretty cool. Of course, there are plenty of times where we tell you to do something, or not to do something else and you look right at us and do the exact opposite. Looks like you've got that defiant streak that most kids your age do! But we still love you and think you're so fun to have around.

Love, Mommy
