Dear Jarom,
Today you turn 17 months. I never did get around to writing for month 16 but you turned 16 months on New Years
Eve so I guess I'll write about both months now. You were so fun for Christmas. Surprisingly, you left the Christmas tree alone for the most part. We were afraid we'd have to take the decorations off halfway down but you did pretty well. Only after Christmas did I come in the living room to find you had smashed one of the ornaments all over the floor. Only one casualty for Christmas - not bad. As is the case with most kids your age you had more fun with the wrapping paper Christmas morning than the actual presents. You played and played and threw that paper around all over the place. That's not to say that when all the wrapping was gone you didn't enjoy your presents because you definitely did. And still do.
You've begun to chatter more and more and say things that almost sound like actual words. Sometimes you'll gasp and then say, "Ohhh!" like you're so excited about whatever you're doing that to. It's really funny! And you understand a lot more than you can say. You'll go get a book when we ask you to and you know what your shoes and blanket are. You can even point to some of your body parts.
Right now your favorite thing to do is play with our shoes. You are constantly trying to put our shoes on (sometimes with your own shoes on already) and walk around the house in them. Your favorite are my black shoes that are pretty much platforms. You walk surprisingly well in them and it always makes me laugh!
You love to play in boxes. Grandma brought you diapers and you've been playing with the diaper box ever since. You climb in it and like us to push you around. You've punched a hole through it and can get it around your waste so you look like you're wearing a skirt!
