Letter to Jarom: 9 Months

Dear Jarom,

It's hard to believe you have now spent as much time out of the womb as you spent in it. Although, I must say these last 9 months went by a lot more quickly than the previous 9 months!

You have grown so much this month. We went to the doctor today and you weigh about 21.5 pounds and are 28 inches long. I swear though, when we hold you for very long you seem to weight 50 pounds! You have four more teeth coming in - two on the bottom, on either side of your front teeth, and the teeth on either side of where your top front teeth should be. You kind of look like you're getting fangs. We hope your top front teeth will come in soon and that you haven't knocked them clear up in your head with all the spills you've taken.

You crawl all over the place now and you're so fast. Sometimes I can barely keep up. You also pull yourself up on anything and everything. Your new favorite game is to crawl to the tv stand and pull yourself up so you can play with the DVD player and I have to come get you. You giggle and giggle and then try to do it again. Aye! Now that you can move around so much you never want to lay down and go to bed. We just let you play in your crib until you wear yourself out and fall asleep.

And wear yourself out, you do. Sometimes you don't want to take a nap anymore so I let you play and play until it's time to eat and then you usually fall asleep while I'm trying to feed you! Those are some funny times. Your head will just start to nod, or your eyes will roll up in your head and I know you are ready for your nap then.

You've started clapping this past week and you find such delight in everything. We continually want to buy you new things just to see what you will do. You have started babbling "ma ma ma ma" and "da da da da" and I can't wait for you to understand their meanings. You always try to grab the spoon when I'm feeding you so it seems you are ready to try to feed yourself. You've mastered the pincer grasp and won't let me feed you your little puffs anymore. You just let me give them to you and then you feed yourself.

I can't believe how quickly you are growing up, but I can't wait for all the things you'll do next.

Love, Mommy
