Today you are 61 months! You have been in kindergarten for a month now and so far you are loving it! You are in the afternoon class so every morning we get to hang out. Sometimes we go visit grandma or run errands or play at the park. After lunch Alex, Megan and I walk you to school. You like to get there early so you can play tag with your classmates before school starts. Then when the bell rings you all line up and your teacher, Mrs. McAffee comes to get you. After school we usually walk home too.
You have made lots of friends and kids are always telling you bye when it's time to go home. You are learning a lot too! Every day you come home and tell me what different letters sound like or a song you learned. You are so smart! We've been practicing writing your name. For awhile you were writing your J's backward and your other letters weren't very legible but now they are looking so good. And we've started reading Harry Potter to you and Alex every night at bedtime. That ensures that we get your 20 minutes of reading in every day. Pretty soon you'll be reading them on your own.
You lost your first tooth this month! We were having corn on the cob and you said it hurt your teeth so I just started cutting it off the cob, not thinking anything about it. Then all of the sudden your tooth was really loose. Your adult tooth was coming in behind it, pushing it out. You wiggled it around for a few days but would freak out if we even hinted at pulling it out. About a week after we noticed it was really loose, daddy was telling you and Alex a story. He accidentally knocked you in the mouth and then your tooth was out! We think you may have swallowed it though because we've never been able to find it. The tooth fairy still came for a visit though.
We went to the fair this month with your cousins. You loved riding the rides and eating cotton candy and funnel cakes. You and Bailey walked arm in arm all around the fairgrounds. You liked seeing the animals and going through the "Little Hands on the Farm."
We also went to "This is the Place Heritage Park" for daddy's work party. It was a lot of fun. You loved plowing the field and riding the horses and train. And of course you loved all the snacks. You liked the ship for kids to play on and the little houses. When we went to the petting farm there was a goat that kept trying to get in the stroller and you kept pushing him out!
You are such a funny kid - always making funny faces and telling funny stories. You are really into knock knock jokes (much to my annoyance) and love playing on the monkey bars at the park. I can't believe how strong you are! And you are so smart. It's amazing how much you've learned just in the last month.
Love, Mommy

I really can't believe how big they are. It's so crazy, makes me realize how much we don't see each other, and how that makes me sad. I feel like life has gotten so chaotic for everyone. It's hard to keep in touch the way I want to!! I miss hanging out all the time, and seeing everyone. I hope that things will calm down some, so that we can all make more of an effort to get together, and do some fun stuff more often.
Your family could not be any cuter! I just love them already!
It's so crazy how big they get and how fast they get there. I wish we had a cool fair to go to.
