Today you turn 16 months! I haven't written for a few months so we're going to do a condensed version of the past several months. You started walking right around Christmas time - during your 14th month. You would take a step here and a step there and then all of the sudden you were talking lots of steps from here to there! You are really enjoying walking and getting around more quickly by yourself. You also got another tooth during that month so you have four on top and four on bottom.
You really enjoyed Christmas. You loved having so many people around to pay attention to you and you loved your presents. You got some Mega Blocks with a firetruck that you really like playing with. You did really well with the Christmas tree too. Once or twice you tried pulling ornaments off the tree but mostly you left it alone.
You turned 15 months on Valentine's Day. You had your checkup with the doctor the next day and you are 21 lbs and 30 1/2 inches long. Your weight has sort of plateaued so we're working to fatten you up a little bit! You've become a little picky about food. You're not too keen on most meat or rice or white potatoes. Otherwise you have a pretty good appetite for anything. You love most fruits and vegetables, beans, and sometimes we can get you to eat meat. You do like cheeseburgers and french fries. And you love pizza!
Your first word besides "mama" and "dada" was "shoe." You're starting to say things that sound like words now like "cheerios" and "cheese." I'm sure your vocabulary will be huge before we know it! You do understand most of what we say. If I tell you we need to get your shoes on you'll go find them and try to climb into the rocking chair so we can put your shoes on. Yesterday I told you we needed to do your hair for church and when I turned around you were in the bathroom trying to comb your hair! You are very very smart!
You are so much fun and bring so much joy to our lives. I can't wait to see what you'll learn next.
Love, Mommy

New posts, I'm so excited. I can't believe how big they both look. It's amazing how much little people change in just a few months.
