Happy Halloween!!! Today you turn 38 months. We had a lot of fun this month getting ready for Halloween. And you could not WAIT to go Trick-or-Treating! We went to Grandma and Grandpa Funk's neighborhood and you got so much candy! You ran from door to door and were very good about saying "thank you" for your candy. I think you were more excited to see all the kids out in their costumes than anything else. You tried to talk to everybody you saw! At one door a lady gave you an orange flavored tootsie roll. You asked her what it was and she told you and you decided you were going to try it right then and there. At most doors when they gave you candy you told them whatever they gave you was your favorite. We all had a lot of fun trick-or-treating this year!
Earlier this month we went to the pumpkin patch with the Syme's and the Rudd's. We picked a really rainy day so the patch was super muddy. You and Dylan didn't seem to mind though and ran around looking for pumpkins and trying to push wheel barrows. You were covered in mud by the time we were done but at least we found some pumpkins!
You helped daddy carve the big pumpkin and helped me decide what kind of face to draw on your little pumpkin. You weren't so sure about pulling all the pumpkin seeds out but finally got into it. Daddy carved a spider web and we made a spider to put on it.
We went to a trunk-or-treat with the VanV's. You had fun running around with Lindzie and Bailey and loved looking at all the kids in their costumes. And of course you were excited for all the candy! With all the candy you got, suckers are your favorite.
Grandma Lynn and I took you to Gardner Village this week in your costume to see all the witches. You weren't sure what to think about some of them but for the most part you thought they were pretty cool. And of course you wanted to talk to all the other kids running around in their costumes as well.
We had a halloween carnival at our ward and you had a great time doing all the games and getting candy for them. You did really well at the bean bag toss but I think your favorite was the pumpkin bowling. You rolled the pumpkin all the way up to the pins and then you made sure to roll the pumpkin over all the pins so they were all knocked down. Not quite the way it's supposed to be done but it was so funny!
You went to the dentist for the first time this month. I wasn't sure how you'd be but you were SO good! The dentist and hygenist raved about what a good patient you were. They put headphones on you and let you watch Spongebob on the tv on the ceiling while they cleaned your teeth. You like brushing and flossing so it didn't bother you at all to have them clean your teeth and you even let them take a few x-rays.
You're getting better at saying the alphabet and counting to ten and knowing your colors. Sometimes when you want help doing something you say, "Help me, I'm doing crazy!" And you've developed quite an attitude this month! You seem to be 3 going on 13 and I don't think I like it very much. We'll have to see what we can do about that because I don't want teenager attitude around here until you're actually a teenager (and not really even then)!
But you're still my sweet little boy most of the time and you make everything so much fun. You can't wait for Baby Alex to get here and I can't wait to see the wonderful big brother you'll be.
Love, Mommy
