Letter to Jarom: Month 37

Dear Jarom,

It's been about a week since you turned 37 months. We've been a little busy lately. One of the things we've been busy working on is getting you potty trained. It's a very slow process and one you're not overly interested in at this time. You've gone on the potty a couple times but it seems like you'll sit there and sit there and as soon as I put a pull-up on you, then you decide to go pee. We'll get this figured out one of these days!

We also moved your room downstairs to prepare for Baby Alex. Daddy painted your room and then about a week ago we moved you downstairs. We weren't sure how you'd do sleeping downstairs by yourself but so far you've been great! You've been sleeping all night and then in the mornings you'll usually just play in your room until we're ready to get up. You think your room is awesome!

This past month we went to the Utah State Fair. You had such a good time! Travis, Jenni, Dylan and Kaitlyn joined us. You and Dylan were so cute - holding hands as we walked around and chatting in your little kid ways! You loved riding the horse and the other rides - you cried every time you had to get off of one - and enjoyed a corndog for dinner. You didn't even seem to mind all the walking around we did. You seemed to really like the Little Hands on the Farm part where you got to pretend to be a farmer and milk the cow and plant seeds and stuff. It was really cute.

We bought your Halloween costume. For the past several months you've been telling us you want to be Fireman Sam for Halloween so we went looking for a Halloween costume. You had a total meltdown at the store when I wouldn't let you get a Darth Vader costume! I finally promised you could be Darth Vader when you were older and you seemed ok. Once we got you home with your fireman costume you were really happy with it and can't wait for Halloween.

You've been saying tons of funny things lately. And you think everything you say is funny and start laughing which actually does make it funny! You're working on learning your ABCs. This is how is sounds most of the time: A B C D E F E H I P W X Y Z. If I can remind you that J K comes after I you can usually do the whole thing pretty well.

You seem to be getting really excited for Baby Alex. You talk about him all the time and can't wait to hold him. I can't wait to see what kind of big brother you will be. I'm sure you'll be great!

Love, Mommy
