Letter to Jarom: Month 31

Dear Jarom,

Today you turn 31 months. Probably the craziest thing that has happened this month is that we moved into our own home! You were so excited for your new room. I'm not sure why since you've always had your own room but whatever. We came over to measure the windows for blinds and we went in your room and you said, "My room! Get out!" It was pretty funny. And any time the doorbell rings you yell, "I"m coming!" Like you're going to be able to let them in by yourself or something. And you love to help daddy with all the home improvements he's been doing. You get your handy Manny tools and you're right there with him fixing whatever needs to be fixed.

As much as you like our new house you loved living at Grandma's. You loved to roll a giant exercise ball up and down the hall. You could do it for hours! And you would play with anybody who was around as long as they would roll the ball down the hall after you like you were being chased. The other day we were on our way home and we passed the street to go to Grandma's house. You got so excited until you realized we weren't going to Grandma's. You kept saying, "Grandma's! Please!"

You've enjoyed spending time with Aunt Laura too. She's introduced you to the world of Care Bears and now you have to watch it every day. You are totally hung up on Dark Heart. You like to sit in your bed and pretend it's a cloud car. Laura also lets you play bubbles which you are completely enamored with these days. I'm sure glad Aunt Laura's around for those times I need a break! And you love to do puzzles now too. You say "play puzz!" and I know that means you want to do a puzzle. You're pretty good at putting the pieces in the right spots too. It's pretty amazing.

Your favorite number is three for some reason. Everything is three. You need to have three blankets. Or take three animals with you wherever you go. Every once in awhile you'll come up with a different number though. Like this morning you wanted eight pancakes. And you think everything is funny. Whenever daddy and I start laughing about something you laugh too and say, "That's funny!" You even try to make your own jokes and then start laughing and say it's funny. And it really is funny! Or we'll be playing something (usually imaginary baseball because I let you watch the baseball scene from Twilight and you loved it) and I'll throw the imaginary ball and you'll run really fast for the ball and catch it and say it's fun.
It's fun to see how much you're changing and what a good vocabulary you're starting to get - even though not all of it is understandable yet.
Love, Mommy

He's getting so big. I can't believe it was only (about) 3 years ago! Time flies too fast!
