Letter to Jarom: Month 39

Dear Jarom,

Today you turned 39 months. This past month you became a big brother!!! I didn't realize just how big you were getting to be until we brought Baby Alex home. You seem HUGE in comparison and it's nice having a child who can actually do a lot of things for himself. You've started working on getting potty trained - I think the main motivation has been bubble gum. You are a huge fan of bubble gum and actually do really well with it. You keep it in your mouth and don't swallow it. Any time you actually go on the potty you get a piece of bubble gum. Your favorite activity these days is coloring in your Star Wars coloring books.

You are a very good big brother. We haven't had any jealousy issues yet although sometimes you do wish we'd pay a little more attention to you and less to Alex. You like to hold Alex and talk to him and you do his voice too so he can talk back! Sometimes if he starts crying and I'm busy making dinner you'll go check on Alex and put his binkie back in his mouth. It's very cute.

We had fun celebrating Thanksgiving this month. Grandma and Grandpa Watts came and stayed with us and you loved having them to play with. You also got to spend a lot of time with your cousins and that was fun for you too.

Today we put up the Christmas tree. You were so excited and couldn't wait to put the "ormanents" on the tree. We got you Star Wars ornaments this year and you love them. Hopefully they stay put on the tree because I can tell you're just itching to play with them!

You have been saying the funniest things lately. The other day you told Grandpa that your bones hurt. Awhile later he asked how your bones were and you said, "They're fine. They're taking a nap." We were listening to Christmas music in the car and Feliz Navidad came on. You said, "This is my favorite song - police money dog!" Daddy took you to get your second swine flu vaccine and you told the nurse you were going to say "oink oink." She got ready to give you your shot and you put your hands up and said, "I don't need a shot!" When it was all over and you were crying you said to daddy, "I didn't say oink oink."

You are at such a fun age. I love hearing all the funny things that come out of your mouth and all the funny things you do. And you are such a good big brother already.

Love, Mommy

The picture of Jare-bear and Alex wrapped in their blankets made me giggle. Jarom is so funny. In some of the picture posted Alex reminds me of Matt when he was a baby. I guess those memories are the advantages of being 10 years older than the baby of the house ;)

Love you guys!
