Happy Birthday! Today is your second birthday! We had your birthday party last night and it was a lot of fun. It was a Thomas the Train themed party and you wore your Thomas clothes and the engineers cap we bought for you. We got Thomas balloons and Thomas cake. We didn't get you any Thomas toys though. Silly us! You had a great time playing with your cousin, Spencer and your friend, Dylan. You were so happy to see your Aunt Kim and Uncle Tom and Tanner and Spencer. Travis was there with Dylan and Kaitlyn. Your Grandma and Grandpa Funk and Aunt Laura and Weston were there. Since it was Labor Day weekend many of our friends and family were out of town but were sorry they missed your birthday. You got lots of toys - mostly cars - and lots of clothes which didn't interest you in the least but I'm sure they will once the weather turns cold and you want to stay warm.
We went to Thanksgiving Point several times this month. You had fun roaring at the dinosaurs in the museum. You really liked playing in the Noah's Ark fountain at the Children's Garden. And you loved riding the ponies in Farm Country. You had never ridden a horse before but you didn't even need help staying on and you didn't want to get off.
You're adjusting to living with Grandma and Grandpa Funk and love having a whole house full of things to get into. It only took you a month to figure out how to climb over the gate to your bedroom. You also love driving your Winnie the Pooh car all around the neighborhood. There's a parking lot at the end of our street and you could ride around there all day. We're getting to know our neighbors because you wave and say, "hi!" to everyone.
You've picked up a few new words lately. You can say, "hand", "thank you", "please", "sit", "more" and we're still working on the animal noises. You love your new bedroom and have a good time jumping off the bed and catching yourself by hanging off the dresser before you fall. You have a low window in your room and sometimes we'll find you standing between the blinds and the window talking to the cars that pass by.
You hate going to bed now. By the time we finally get you to sleep it's pretty much time for daddy and I to go to bed too. Sometimes we shut you in your room to let you cry yourself to sleep. We hate it but we can't rock you to sleep every night. When you finally fall asleep sometimes we find you in weird places. Right in front of the door or on the couch or at the foot of your bed.

You are such a big helper. You love to help grandma snap beans. You will carry things for us. You put your clothes in the hamper and throw your diapers away. You try to load the dishwasher (or unload it). We love having your help.

Daddy and I have loved the last two years and look forward to many more birthdays to celebrate!
Love, Mommy
