Dear Jarom,

Today you turn 19 months. I took you to get your haircut this morning and this time we had it cut really short. It looks very cute but you look much older now. You're not a baby anymore.
You have started doing a lot of make-believe play over the last couple months. You love to get the pots and pans out and pretend you're making things. You bring the spoon over for me to "taste" what you're working on. You love to sit and watch me cook in the kitchen and you always go up to the oven to feel and see if it's hot so you know we're making something. I think mostly it's just because you always want to eat but hopefully in the next couple years you'll come to love helping out in the kitchen for real. The other day I also saw you feeding your Elmo doll. You were drinking your juice and you kept giving Elmo little sips as well. Unfortunately, Elmo was drenched by the time you finished your juice!
You are really good at golf. You definitely take after your daddy with that one. You almost always have a golf club and ball with you and it's fun to watch you play. I'm sure daddy can't wait for you to be able to go golfing with him. We even bought a little hat for you to wear that looks like a golfers hat. You're not too keen on wearing it yet but hopefully that'll change.
Just because you don't like to wear that hat doesn't mean you don't like to try on other things. The other day we pulled your boots and mittens out of the closet because we were trying to make room for some other things and you decided you had to wear them. It was proably 75 degrees in our house but there you were with boots and mittens on with your sleeper. And you threw a fit when I made you take them off.
This past month we celebrated Easter and you had a great time with your Easter baskets. You got all kinds of books and movies and candy. You especially loved the jelly beans. And when we went to Grandma Lynn and Grandpa Mike's you got to hunt for Easter eggs. You were really good at finding them but you didn't really like having to put them in the basket. I'm looking forward to many more Easters with you.
Love, Mommy
